Trip Introduction

The Everest High Pass Trek is a 23-day moderate to challenging trekking package designed by Nepal Trekking Tourism & Adventure (NETTA). This trek offers a once-in-a-lifetime experience in the Everest region, requiring you to cross three high passes: Kongma La (5,535m), Cho La (5,420m), and Renjo La (5,338m). Throughout the trek, youll be rewarded with breathtaking vistas of towering mountains and scenic natural beauty. Youll also encounter diverse flora, including pine, hemlock, fir, juniper, and rhododendron, as well as a variety of wildlife in Sagarmatha National Park. In addition, the Everest High Pass Trek allows you to experience the rich culture, villages, and monasteries of the region.

Also known as the Everest High Passes Trek or the Three High Passes Trek, this journey is one of the best treks in the Khumbu Everest National Park. It covers two famous trekking areas in the Everest region: Everest Base Camp (EBC) and Gokyo Ri, connected by the three high passes. The itinerary includes three acclimatization days in Namche (3,440m), Dingboche (4,410m), and Lobuche (4,940m). From Dingboche, you will have the opportunity to visit Ama Dablam Base Camp and trek to Chhukung, a charming Himalayan town popular for Island Peak climbing.

If you are physically fit and have prior trekking experience up to 4,500m, this high pass trek in Everest is highly recommended. Alternatively, you may consider the Everest Renjo La Pass Trek (a single high pass trek), the Everest Cho La Pass Trek, or the standard EBC trek.

Depending on your timeframe, we can customize the itinerary for a 21-day or 22-day Everest High Pass Trek. If you are a good hiker or interested in completing the full circuit trek in the Everest region, this is the best plan for you.

We will begin our trek with a flight to Lukla (2,780m). The journey will take us through stunning pine forests alongside the Dudh Koshi River. You’ll be captivated by the views of Mt. Everest and the Nuptse-Lhotse ridge as we make our way to the vibrant trading hub of Namche Bazaar. We will pass through Dingboche, an enchanting area with small fields surrounded by stone walls. Additionally, we will trek to Ama Dablam Base Camp, where splendid views of Ama Dablam and surrounding peaks await.

Next, we will ascend Khangmala Pass (5,535m), the highest pass of the trek, offering great views of Island Peak valley and the rugged Amphu Lapcha. The trek to Everest Base Camp will be unforgettable, with magnificent vistas of massive peaks and the Khumbu Icefall. We will also traverse Cho La Pass (5,420m), where prayer flags flutter in the wind, creating a mesmerizing atmosphere.

To capture the stunning views, we will hike to Gokyo Ri at 5,350m, rewarding us with breathtaking sights of Cho Oyu, Gyanchung King, Lhotse, Everest, Makalu, Tawoche, Cholatse, and many more. Another highlight is reaching Renjo La, which offers views of gigantic Everest, Lhotse, Cholatse, and Tawoche.

In addition to the scenic beauty of the Everest region and its high passes, youll have the chance to interact with the Sherpa inhabitants of Khumbu and learn about their traditions and culture. The Everest High Pass Trek presents a wonderful opportunity to explore natural magnificence and rich cross-cultural diversity.
