Trip Introduction

Lobuche Peak Climbing - 19 Days: "Amazing Trekking Peak in Nepal"

Lobuche Peak, standing at 6,119 meters (20,075 feet), is one of the most stunning trekking peaks in the Everest region. Summiting this peak and enjoying breathtaking views of the world’s highest mountains is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for trekkers and climbers alike. While technically demanding, the peak can be successfully summited in the spring or autumn when weather conditions are favorable.

Location and Features

Located in the Khumbu region of Nepal, Lobuche serves as a vital stop on the way to Everest Base Camp or during Everest expeditions. The peak comprises two main summits: Lobuche East (6,119 m) and Lobuche West (6,145 m). This page focuses on the climbing and expedition of Lobuche East Peak, which is supervised by the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) and is recognized as one of the popular trekking peaks in Nepal.

Climbing Itinerary

Our 19-day Lobuche Peak climbing package, offered by Nepal Trekking Tourism & Adventure (NETTA), combines the trek to Everest Base Camp with the peak climb. The expedition begins and ends in Lukla, ensuring ample acclimatization and physical preparation before the summit attempt. After reaching Everest Base Camp and Kalapattar, we return to Lobuche to begin our ascent.

Climbing Experience

The Lobuche Peak climbing experience is an unforgettable adventure in the Khumbu Everest region. The trek to the base camp of Lobuche East Peak is more technical than that of Island Peak, necessitating the establishment of two camps: Base Camp and High Camp.

Successful Summits

With over 25 years of experience, NETTA has successfully guided many international clients to the summit of Lobuche. Our records demonstrate a high success rate, making this an excellent choice for aspiring climbers. The best months for summiting are October to mid-December and March to mid-June.

Climbing Permit

Lobuche is classified as a Group B NMA peak, requiring a climbing permit, which can only be obtained through a registered trekking and expedition company like NETTA. The fees for climbing permits vary by season:

  • Summer and Winter (June to August & December to February): USD 70
  • Autumn (September to November): USD 125
  • Spring (March to May): USD 250

These permit fees are included in our expedition package. To ensure a safe ascent, climbers must be accompanied by a professional climbing guide.
