Simply MERA peak expedition or climbing and return by helicopter means, you will trek up to Mera peak high camp, then summit Mera peak, back to Khare and fly back to Lukla be helicopter instead of 3 days same way walking back. In this itinerary, like many other companies, we dont guide you two shortcut ways by cutting necessary acclimatization above 3500m to 6476m. Our main concern is your safety and successful completion of Expedition, we are more focused on secure trip keeping best itinerary in order to fulfill our clients lifetime dream.

Mera peak Expedition and return by Helicopter package starts and ends at Lukla. we start trek to Khare via traditional/regular route of Chutanga- Chatra la- Chatrabuk- Kothey. Chatra la pass (4600m) is one best views pass to see beautiful mountain ranges, hills, valley views and so forth when we cross 4600m Chatra la on second day of trek and hike down to KHARE (3580m) on third day of trek, it helps a lot for our body to adjust with high altitude. from Kothey (3580m), we slowly trek to Thangnak (4280m). Many other companies do not have any extra day for acclimatization at Thangnak, which is very important to have one extra acclimatization day. But we have a day extra to hike tower hill of Thangnak for acclimatization, where you hike up to 5000m today. The rules of altitude change for the body is "walk higher and sleep lower". After two nights at Thangnak, we slowly trek to Khare (4913m) which is the last lodges mountain destination of Mera peak and other mountains in this region. We have another acclimatization day at Khare. Today we hike to Mera La or Mera peak crampon points, nearly 5300m and return to Khare for an overnight stay. We also check all climbing gears and basic rope training with climbing sherpa at Khare.

From Khare, we directly hike to Mera high camp (5800m) for an overnight stay in tented camp. Next early morning depend on weather, we climb MERA peak around 1.30 am to 3 am. After the successful summit of Mera peak (6476m), we walk back to High camp to have lunch and continue walk back to Khare; it is depend on climbers, it may take up to 10-12 hours to summit MERA peak and back to Khare from high camp. This is a tough day. However, once you reach at Khare, if you reach back Khare by 3 pm, we can take a helicopter ride to Lukla same day or we wait until next morning.
