Nepal Trekking Tourism & Adventure would like to provide helpful advice about booking trip in Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan or India. before booking your trip with any trekking and travel agency, it is most important to know whether the company has legally registered with the Nepal government authorities as well as other authorized travel associations of Nepal or not.

There are many companies running trekking and tours business with expired licenses; business that do not observe the legal formalities imposed by the country acts. Similarly, we have seen many examples of so - called trekking / tour agencies illegally operated by individuals & freelancers through their own personal websites. There are thousands of websites owned by freelancer's guides from Nepal and aboard which are not legally registered with Government of tourism.

Additionally, it has been found that some trekking tour operators abroad have been involved with directly operating tours, trekking and expeditions without the required governmental licenses and without paying legally required taxes and insurance for trekking crews.

We like to strongly advice you that if you book your trip with an unauthorized agency in Nepal or abroad, there is a greater risk that problem will occur during the course of your time in Nepal. In order to protect yourself from these problems, take the following hints into consideration prior to confirming your journey with any trekking or travel agency.

• Is the company registered with the proper government authorities?
• Is the company insured against accidents happening to their staff?
• Is the company environmentally conscious?
• Is the company registered with the appropriate authorized travel and trekking associations?
• Does the Company have its own Bank account with a reputable bank and bank guarantee?
• Is the Company clear of back taxes?

Staff Insurance:

At Nepal Trekking Tourism & Adventure, we take pride in the fact that every single porter and guide employed by us is not only well paid but also protected by an accident insurance policy including necessary medical expenses too. They are provided with warm clothing and proper shelter on all high altitude treks. All our treks benefit the village economics by using local services (manpower, produce, lodges and other services). We ensure that all our staff is well paid, insured and properly equipped.

Tax Clearance:

A qualified professional has been hired to maintain our books of account. Additionally, a government approved tax auditor prepares the Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Statement of Cash Flow at the end of each fiscal year. On the basis of this, we pay 24.5% of our net profit to the government. We are clear of all back taxes and have paid our taxes in advance for the current year.
